The Blood of Dawnwalker Runs Smoothly on Consoles, Dev Confirms Near Release State

The Blood of Dawnwalker Confirmed to Run Smoothly on Consoles as Certification Begins
The highly anticipated RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker is showing strong signs of nearing completion, as the development team has confirmed that the game is already performing smoothly on consoles. With certification now underway, players may not have to wait much longer for more concrete release updates.
Developed by Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by key creators behind The Witcher III, the project has quickly gained attention among fans of deep narrative-driven RPGs.
Development Progress Signals “Almost Ready” Status
In a recent podcast interview with The Game Business, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, CEO of Rebel Wolves and former game director of The Witcher III, shared important updates regarding the game’s current status.
According to Tomaszkiewicz, The Blood of Dawnwalker has already been submitted for certification, a crucial step before launch. This process indicates that the game is approaching what developers often refer to as a “Gone Gold” state.
He also revealed that he has personally completed at least one full playthrough of the game, reinforcing confidence that development is in its final stages.
Strong Confidence in Console Performance
One of the most reassuring updates for players is the performance on consoles, particularly on PlayStation 5. Tomaszkiewicz expressed strong confidence in how the game runs, noting that development has progressed smoothly overall.
He confirmed that his own playthrough was done on a PlayStation 5, and while he did not specify the exact model, it is widely assumed to be close to standard retail hardware. This suggests that players using base consoles can expect stable and smooth gameplay without needing upgraded hardware.
Additionally, quality assurance feedback from partners has been positive, further strengthening expectations that the game will deliver a polished experience at launch.
A Dark Fantasy RPG Set in a Plague-Ridden Europe
The Blood of Dawnwalker is an open-world action RPG set in 14th-century Europe, during the devastating Black Death pandemic. The setting paints a grim world where survival is uncertain and humanity is pushed to its limits.
Players take on the role of Coen, a young man transformed into a Dawnwalker, a being caught between vampire and human. This dual nature plays a central role in both gameplay and narrative.
The story introduces a unique time constraint, giving players 30 days and 30 nights to achieve their goals. Whether that means saving loved ones or embracing darker powers is entirely up to the player, offering meaningful choices that shape the outcome.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is scheduled for release in 2026 and will be available on:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- PC
Players can already visit the game’s Steam page to learn more and add it to their wishlist, showing support for the developers ahead of launch.
