Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy director Naoki Hamaguchi believes younger players are now more familiar with Real-Time gameplay than traditional Turn-Based systems.

In an interview with Game Informer, Hamaguchi discussed how player behavior has changed over time.

He said modern players often expect immediate responses after pressing buttons, which helps explain why action elements have become more common in RPG combat.

Real-Time gameplay feels more natural to younger players

According to Hamaguchi, younger players tend to prefer Real-Time experiences because they are used to seeing quick results from their actions.

When a player presses a button, they expect the game to respond immediately.
