Street Fighter 6 Adds Free Avatar Battle Modes

Street Fighter 6 is adding new free modes that let players bring their custom World Tour avatars into battle.

CAPCOM will release Random Avatar Matches and Avatar Arcade on May 28.

The update arrives near the end of the game’s third season, alongside the return of Ingrid, who joins the roster after more than 20 years.

Avatar battles finally get more focus

Both new modes focus on player-created Avatar characters from World Tour.

This gives players another way to use the fighters they created outside the main story mode.

Instead of only building a custom character for solo progression, players can now bring that identity into more battle-focused content.

Avatar Arcade uses your own fighter

Avatar Arcade lets players use the character they created in World Tour.

The mode also uses the fighting moves and skills players have unlocked through their progress.

After completing the mode, players can unlock new outfits for main characters.

This gives completion-focused players another reason to revisit their avatars and keep progressing.

Random Avatar Matches balance online play

Random Avatar Matches uses prepared avatar fighters instead of directly using player-built characters.

These preset avatars come with fixed health, fully unlocked fighting styles, balanced attack values, and more flexible move customization.

This setup helps make online avatar battles feel fairer.

It also gives players more freedom to experiment without creating huge balance problems.

About Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

The game continues the legendary fighting franchise with major systems such as World Tour and Battle Hub.

World Tour lets players create their own character and experience a story-driven fighting journey.

Battle Hub gives players a larger shared space where they can meet and challenge other fighters.

Ingrid arrives this month

Street Fighter 6 is currently in its third season.

The next playable character is Ingrid from Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX and related spin-off appearances.

She is scheduled to arrive before the end of the month.

With Ingrid and the new avatar modes launching close together, May looks like a strong month for players who want more ways to fight.

THIS IS our take

Street Fighter 6 already made avatars a big part of its identity, so giving them dedicated battle modes feels overdue. Avatar Arcade rewards players who built their own fighter, while Random Avatar Matches smartly keeps online chaos more balanced.
