Cyberpunk Dev Amazed by Wuthering Waves Collab

Cyberpunk Team Amazed by Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Collab Response

The Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collaboration has officially arrived, and the response has been massive enough to impress even the Cyberpunk team.

The crossover launched on June 8 as part of Version 3.4, titled The Dream Not Dreamed. The update adds new collaboration story content, gacha characters Lucy and Rebecca, new weapons, and other themed content connected to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Since Wuthering Waves already carries a sci-fi identity, the collaboration fits naturally with the game’s world and atmosphere.

Wuthering Waves Hits a New Steam Peak

The collaboration helped push Wuthering Waves to a new milestone on Steam.

According to the source, the game reached 49,497 concurrent players on the day the crossover launched. This became the highest peak the game has reached on Steam since Kuro Games brought it to the platform in April last year.

The strong result suggests that the crossover successfully attracted both Wuthering Waves players and fans of the Cyberpunk franchise.

Cyberpunk Developer Praises the Community

The success also caught the attention of Paweł Sasko, a quest designer on Cyberpunk 2077 and co-director of the next Cyberpunk game currently in development.

Sasko said the team had worked on many collaborations in the past, both small and large, but he had never seen a community response this intense before. He also praised the quality and passion behind the cosplay, fan art, and memes created by players.

He added that WuWa and Kuro Games are truly lucky to have such a passionate and dedicated player base.

A Crossover That Fits Both Worlds

Part of the reason this collaboration works is the strong overlap between the two worlds.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners carries a stylish sci-fi identity filled with neon, danger, tech, and emotion. Wuthering Waves also has a futuristic action RPG setting, making the collaboration feel more natural than a random brand crossover.

With Lucy and Rebecca joining the game, fans now have a direct way to bring Cyberpunk: Edgerunners energy into Wuthering Waves’ combat and story content.

Collaboration Runs Until July 9

Players still have time to experience the crossover.

The Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collaboration will remain available until July 9. Players who want to pull for Lucy and Rebecca or experience the limited-time story content should join before the event period ends.

About Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves is a free-to-play open-world online action game.

The game is available on Windows through the official launcher, Epic Games Store, and Steam. It is also available on macOS, iOS, Android, and PlayStation 5.

With the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collaboration now live, the game has gained another major moment of attention from both existing players and new fans.

THIS IS our take

The Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collaboration feels like one of those rare crossovers that actually makes sense. The sci-fi tone, stylish characters, and high-energy fan culture fit together naturally. Hitting a new Steam peak and earning praise from the Cyberpunk side shows how powerful the community response has been. For SEA players who enjoy both WuWa and Edgerunners, this is a limited-time crossover worth checking before it ends on July 9.
