VALORANT Reveals Summit Map for Act 4

VALORANT Reveals Summit, a New Map Built Around Moving Walls and Fast Adaptation
Riot Games has officially revealed Summit, the newest map coming to VALORANT.
The map will launch alongside Season 2026 // Act 4 on June 24, 2026, bringing players to a famous Radiant training academy hidden in the mountains of China. This location is where Radiants from around the world gather to better understand and train their supernatural abilities.
For players preparing to climb ranked in Act 4, Summit looks like a map that will reward quick thinking, flexible rotations, and sharp site control.
Summit Is a 5v5 Map With 3 Lanes and 2 Spike Sites
Summit is designed as a new 5v5 map with a classic competitive structure.
The map includes 3 lanes and 2 Spike Sites, giving players familiar tactical foundations while adding a unique twist through its moving wall mechanic.
Visually, the map blends training halls with meditation gardens, creating a setting that mixes calm traditional design with advanced facilities built specifically for Radiants.
That peaceful surface, however, hides a battlefield where one shifting wall can change the entire round.

Moving Walls Can Change the Flow of Battle
The biggest feature of Summit is its three moving walls.
These walls appear in A Site, B Site, and Mid. During a round, they can move up and down, cutting off key sightlines and changing rotation routes.
This means teams cannot rely on static setups all the time. A strong angle may disappear. A rotation path may change. A site take may suddenly become more dangerous or more open depending on the wall positions.
Every decision matters more because the map itself can alter the rhythm of the fight.
Summit Connects to Sage’s Lore
Summit also has an important connection to VALORANT’s story.
The map is home to a famous Radiant training institute and also includes the location of the Radiant monastery where Sage once studied before joining the VALORANT Protocol.
This gives Summit more narrative weight than just being another competitive arena. It reflects a place where Radiants train, meditate, and learn how to understand their abilities, while also using advanced facilities designed to handle supernatural power.
For players who follow VALORANT lore, Summit adds another meaningful location to the game’s world.

Summit Enters Competitive Immediately
Riot Games is bringing Summit directly into the Competitive queue on launch day.
To help players learn the new map without feeling too punished, there will be a special adjustment during its first two weeks. Players who lose on Summit will lose 50% less RR, while winners will still receive full RR.
This gives players a safer window to understand the map layout, learn timing, test strategies, and adjust to the moving walls without risking too much ranked progress.
Summit-Only Queue Will Run for 7 Days
A dedicated Summit-only queue will also be available for seven days.
This queue will use the Swiftplay format, making it easier for players to practice the map quickly and repeatedly. For players who want to learn callouts, test agent compositions, study wall behavior, or simply get comfortable with Summit before ranked pressure increases, this should be a useful training option.
Retake Mode Arrives in Act 4
Season 2026 // Act 4 also introduces Retake, a new fast-paced 3v3 mode.
Retake focuses on one of the most intense moments in VALORANT: the post-plant situation. At the start of each round, the Spike is already planted. One team must defend the site and protect the Spike, while the other team must retake the area and defuse it.
Teams swap sides every round, and the first team to win 5 rounds wins the match.
Retake Uses Strategic Loadout Cards
Retake also includes a special equipment card system.
Each round, players choose two cards. One card determines their weapon and armor, while the other provides ability charges. Each card offers two randomized options, and these options become stronger as the match continues.
This gives Retake a strategic layer beyond simple aim duels. Players need to decide what tools they want, how they want to approach the site, and how to adapt as the round economy changes through the card system.
The mode uses only one bomb site from existing maps, with selected sites chosen specifically to fit Retake’s gameplay style. More sites will be added throughout the Act.
Blackspyre Collection Joins the Update
Act 4 will also introduce the new Blackspyre skin collection.
This weapon line combines sci-fi style with a mysterious atmosphere. The collection includes skins for the Phantom, Sheriff, Spectre, Ares, and a new melee weapon called Divide.
For players who enjoy darker and more stylish weapon themes, Blackspyre looks like one of the main cosmetic highlights of the update.

New Battle Pass Arrives for 1,000 VP
The new Act 4 Battle Pass will cost 1,000 VP and includes both free and paid rewards.
Free track highlights include:
- Sky Reaper Ghost
- Heal Up Squad card
- Binding Thread buddy
- On Your Feet spray
Paid track highlights include:
- Sky Reaper Sword
- Tacti-Guild Phantom
- Intertwine Guardian
- Boom Ball Flex
- Unstoppable // Iso card
- Soft and Deadly card
- Blep spray
- Unimpressed spray
- Prooooowler buddy
Act 4 Launches on June 24
Summit, Retake, the Blackspyre Collection, and the new Battle Pass will all arrive together in VALORANT Season 2026 // Act 4 on June 24, 2026.
Players should prepare their teams, study the new routes, and get ready for a battlefield where one moving wall could completely change the outcome of a round.
THIS IS our take
Summit sounds like a strong addition to VALORANT because it does not only add a new location, but also a new layer of decision-making through its moving walls. The 3-lane structure and 2-site setup should feel familiar, but the shifting sightlines in A Site, B Site, and Mid could make every round more dynamic. Add the ranked RR protection, Summit-only Swiftplay queue, Retake mode, Blackspyre skins, and the new Battle Pass, and Act 4 looks like a solid update for both competitive players and casual fans.
