Resident Evil Requiem secretly hinted its final boss in the middle of the game

Resident Evil Requiem may have hinted its final boss much earlier in the story
Warning: The following article contains story spoilers related to Resident Evil Requiem.
Resident Evil Requiem is known for delivering several major twists throughout its story, particularly during the path toward the Good Ending where players eventually confront the game’s main antagonist.
Many players were shocked when the villain Gideon transforms into a monstrous boss reminiscent of Nemesis style enemies from earlier entries in the series. The battle itself also follows a similar formula, making the encounter feel like a deliberate homage to classic Resident Evil moments.
However, fans have recently pointed out that the game may have been quietly foreshadowing Gideon’s true nature much earlier in the story.
Mid game motorcycle chase may reveal the secret
The observation was shared by the account Resident Bio Evil, which frequently posts trivia and lore insights about the Resident Evil franchise.
According to the post, Gideon’s behavior during the mid game motorcycle chase scene already displays traits commonly associated with Nemesis.
One of the most obvious similarities is Gideon’s relentless pursuit of the protagonist Grace Ashcroft. Like Nemesis, he continues chasing his target without hesitation and removes anyone who stands in his way.
Weapon choice hints at Nemesis inspiration
Another clue lies in Gideon’s use of heavy weaponry.
During the chase sequence, he uses a rocket launcher. This detail closely mirrors Nemesis, who famously wields an RPG as one of his signature weapons in earlier Resident Evil titles.
This parallel suggests that the developers may have intentionally planted narrative hints to prepare players for Gideon’s eventual transformation.
Virus abilities appear earlier than expected
Players also noticed that Gideon demonstrates unusual virus related abilities earlier in the game.
At one point he is able to infect civilians quickly, spreading the virus among people on the street. This behavior resembles how Nemesis operates under strict mission orders, hunting down targets and eliminating obstacles without hesitation.
These subtle hints make the twist feel less random once players look back at the earlier scenes.
Final transformation mirrors classic Resident Evil battles
By the final confrontation, Gideon fully transforms into a monstrous form that barely resembles a human.
The battle even echoes a classic Resident Evil moment where Jill Valentine defeats Nemesis using a powerful weapon. In Requiem’s case, Gideon is ultimately taken down using a revolver.
One key difference, however, is that Gideon retains the ability to speak and communicate even after transforming, adding a more unsettling layer to the character.
