Resident Evil Requiem RPD secrets reference classic Resident Evil games

The return of the Raccoon Police Department in Resident Evil Requiem is more than just a nostalgic location. The iconic building is packed with references to the long history of the Resident Evil franchise. Longtime fans exploring the area have discovered numerous hidden details referencing classic characters, puzzles, and moments from earlier entries such as Resident Evil 2.
Below are the 23 Easter eggs hidden inside the RPD.
1. Leon reopening the RPD front door

One clever callback involves Leon S. Kennedy. In Resident Evil 2, Leon barricades the front entrance of the RPD to prevent zombies from entering. In Resident Evil Requiem, he returns and ends up reopening the very door he once sealed.
2. The classic typewriter save point

The classic typewriter that once served as the first save point in Resident Evil 2 still sits in the same location. While it can no longer be used to save progress, players can interact with it as a nostalgic reference.
3. The security computer that revealed Tyrant

The small white computer Leon used to check surveillance cameras during the early hours of the RPD incident remains on the same desk. This was the computer that first revealed the appearance of Tyrant (Mr. X).
4. Tofu cameo appearance

The bizarre secret character known as Tofu from the “Tofu Survivor” mode appears as a hidden cameo. Players may hear a distinctive sound before spotting Tofu briefly appearing in several areas around the police station.
5. The fallen police officer killed by a Licker

In the southwest corridor, players can still find the body of a police officer killed by a Licker. This location references the first Licker encounter in Resident Evil 2 and connects to events shown in Resident Evil 3.
6. The quote “You Can’t Save Anyone”

A note inside the station contains the phrase “You Can’t Save Anyone.” This line references dialogue spoken by Jack Krauser during his confrontation with Leon in Resident Evil 4.
7. The WEL(L)COME Leon banner

The famous welcome banner celebrating Leon’s arrival appears again inside the station. The extra letter L still exists nearby as a joke referencing the spelling mistake “Wellcome Leon” in the original Resident Evil 2.

8. Leon and Marvin’s desk

The desks used by Leon and Marvin Branagh remain inside the RPD. A document titled “Top Secret Operation” describes a plan by the officers to secretly throw Leon a welcome party.
9. The zombie attacking the vending machine

Players can encounter a zombie repeatedly attacking a vending machine, mirroring the same environmental moment seen in Resident Evil 2.
10. Chris Redfield’s jacket

Inside the S.T.A.R.S office, players can find the iconic brown jacket belonging to Chris Redfield. After decades, it now appears worn and covered with dust.
11. Jill Valentine’s beret

The blue beret worn by Jill Valentine is also present as a collectible reference inside the office.
12. Rebecca Chambers’ medical bag

A medical bag belonging to Rebecca Chambers can be found in the S.T.A.R.S room, referencing her role in the original Resident Evil storyline.
13. Barry Burton’s to do list

A note labeled “Barry’s To Do List” references Barry Burton, another key member of the S.T.A.R.S team.
14. Albert Wesker’s sunglasses

18. The Mechanic Jack Handle

The Mechanic Jack Handle used in the library puzzle of Resident Evil 2 appears again. Surprisingly, the device still works decades later.
19. The Raccoon City guide pamphlet

A guide pamphlet introducing Raccoon City can still be found in the station. The contents remain almost identical to the document seen in Resident Evil 2.
20. The JoJo locker reference

One locker labeled JoJo references the fighting game adaptation of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure that was previously developed by Capcom.

21. Classic Capcom game covers

Opening the JoJo locker reveals several classic Capcom game covers including Street Fighter Alpha 2 and Mega Man 8.
22. Tyrant returns to RPD
