Square Enix has officially released a free playable demo for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S, allowing players to experience the opening chapter of the legendary JRPG remake ahead of its upcoming launch on these platforms.

The demo is available starting today via the Nintendo eShop and Microsoft Store, offering unrestricted access to the game’s introductory content and full save data transfer into the retail version.

Experience the Opening Chapter in Full

The demo includes the complete prologue section (Chapter 0) of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Players take control of Cloud Strife, with the ability to switch to Barret Wallace during combat, as they infiltrate a massive Mako reactor in Midgar.

Gameplay features include:

  • Real-time combat with selectable party members
  • A selection of enemies designed for learning mechanics and farming
  • Difficulty options including Easy and Normal
  • A “Head Start” command that boosts starting level and items

The demo culminates in the iconic boss battle against the Scorpion Sentinel. Upon completion, players can seamlessly transfer their save data directly into the full game when it launches.
