Nintendo Launches Switch 2 Game Compatibility Website

Nintendo has launched an official website that allows players to check which games are compatible with the Switch 2. This marks the first time in years that a Nintendo console offers full backward compatibility, differing from previous solutions like the Wii and Wii U that relied on legacy CPUs inside the system. As a result, some older titles may initially run inconsistently, and certain games were blocked from playing until software updates resolved the issues.

The new website provides a convenient platform to track game updates, see which titles are fully playable, and filter results by region for imported games. While some popular games like Dead by Daylight, NieR: Automata, and Overcooked All You Can Eat! are still facing compatibility issues, many titles marked as unplayable such as Borderlands 3 can actually run with minor restrictions. For example, Overcooked works as long as fewer than 3–4 players join a session, but users are responsible for any resulting in-game issues.
