Logitech G Confirms No AI Assistance for Competitive Gaming

Amid the growing trend of AI being integrated into everything from smart appliances to webcams, Logitech G is taking a different approach. At CES 2026, the company unveiled a new gaming mouse that contains no AI, emphasizing the true skill of esports players and the importance of competitive integrity.

A Clear Stance on AI

Chris Pate, Product Manager for Logitech G’s Pro series, stated that while the company isn’t anti-AI, it must be cautious when incorporating it into professional-grade gear. He confirmed that Logitech will not develop AI that plays games for you, as this would undermine the essence of competition and step beyond the intended scope of professional equipment.

AI Where It Matters

Logitech G focuses on using AI without impacting player skill. For instance, AI can reduce microphone noise or analyze hardware performance—improving the product without giving players an unfair advantage. For the new Pro X2 Superstrike mouse, data from 40 gamers totaling 2.22 terabytes was analyzed to fine-tune the hardware.

This philosophy contrasts with tech giants racing to add AI to every device. In competitive gaming, AI that assists aiming or movement is immediately viewed as cheating, similar to how certain running shoes were banned in professional athletics for providing unnatural advantages.

Innovation Through Engineering, Not Shortcuts

Looking ahead, Logitech G plans to use AI only when it genuinely enhances the product. If it compromises competitive fairness, the technology will be excluded. Pate emphasized that the company is committed to innovation that elevates performance while respecting the integrity of esports.

Gamers can rest assured that upcoming Logitech G mice and keyboards will rely solely on player skill, ergonomic design, and precision engineering, without hidden AI assistance that could risk bans in competitive play.
