Nintendo Plans Future Expansion to Thailand, Confirms First Thai-Language Game with Donkey Kong Bananza

Nintendo Eyes SEA Expansion with Future Thailand Branch and First-Ever Thai-Language Game

Nintendo continues to deepen its presence in Southeast Asia, following a series of major moves in the region. After partnering with Synnex to launch the first-ever Nintendo Authorized Store in SEA — located in central Bangkok and designed to deliver a dedicated gaming experience — the company has now confirmed even bigger plans ahead.

On September 30, Nintendo officially announced the establishment of Nintendo Singapore Pte. Ltd., a new subsidiary aimed at strengthening its business footprint across Southeast Asia. The company also revealed that Thailand is next in line as a potential location for future expansion, with Takahiro Miura appointed as Managing Director and SGD 8 million in registered capital.

As part of its broader regional growth strategy, Nintendo plans to offer more localized content, with Donkey Kong Bananza set to become the first-ever game with full Thai language support. Released in July as a next-gen open-world action-adventure, the game will receive a free Thai language update, and a Thai demo version will debut at gamescom asia × Thailand Game Show.

This move also signals a larger roadmap that could include the long-awaited Nintendo eShop launch, as well as official tournaments, expanded online services like Nintendo Switch Online, Nintendo Today, and Nintendo Music, further strengthening Nintendo’s ecosystem in the SEA market.
