Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4 Arrives on July 15 with Fate/stay night Collab
HoYoverse has announced that Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4, titled “In Ravages, Does the Whistle Sound”, will officially be available for download on July 15.
The new update continues the Planarcadia storyline, introduces a major confrontation with Asat Pramad, and also brings the second phase of the Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] collaboration with Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh.
Planarcadia enters a life-or-death crisis
In the previous story chapter, Asat Pramad finally removed his mask and revealed himself, breaking the peace that had lasted across Planarcadia for 15 years.
After the conflict erupted, Himeko disappeared after facing Asat Pramad, leaving only unclear clues connected to the Astral Express. In Version 4.4, the Trailblazer will follow these traces to uncover Himeko’s location, her sense of identity, and the truth behind what happened 15 years ago.
The story will eventually lead players into a direct confrontation with Asat Pramad, as Planarcadia faces a destructive game tied to life and death.
Himeko returns in a new 5-star form
Version 4.4 also introduces Himeko – Nova Era as a new 5-star Fire character on the Path of Erudition.
During battle, Himeko – Nova Era can deploy a field and immediately summon the armored unit Starward Vanguard to assist in combat. When using her Ultimate, she can lead allies to control Starward Vanguard together and strike enemies.
While her field is active, allies gain an additional support skill that allows them to call Starward Vanguard to attack all enemies. Astral Express crew members also receive extra effects, giving Himeko’s new form a strong thematic connection to the main party.
Fate/stay night collab phase 2 begins July 24
The second phase of the Honkai: Star Rail and Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] collaboration officially begins on July 24.
After the Fifth Holy Grail War, Rin Tohsaka travels to another world and becomes lost in Planarcadia after losing all her magical power. In an emergency, she attempts to use a Holy Grail displayed at the Star Rail Festival to summon a Servant and escape from this world.
At the same time, Gilgamesh’s Gate of Babylon scatters across the paradise-like land, creating chaos. The Trailblazer will work with Rin to search for the missing treasures and uncover the truth behind this new Holy Grail War.
Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh join as playable characters
Rin Tohsaka will become a playable 5-star Quantum character on the Path of Erudition. She uses jewel-based combat and can spend accumulated Jewel Energy to deal multiple follow-up hits to random targets. The more Jewel Energy she spends, the more damage instances she can trigger.
Meanwhile, Gilgamesh joins as a playable 5-star Lightning character on the Path of Destruction. During battle, allies help him build Attention, restoring energy and increasing his Ultimate damage. Once enough Attention is gathered, he can open the Gate of Babylon and unleash multiple attacks before using Enuma Elish to deal massive damage to all enemies.
Free limited 5-star collab character reward
From the launch of the collaboration on July 24 until before the end of Version 4.6, Trailblazers who log in can choose one free limited 5-star collaboration character: Gilgamesh or Archer.
Players will also receive related upgrade materials. The collaboration character Warps and Light Cone Warps will run for an extended period, with both collab character Warp phases sharing pity progress. The same system applies to the Light Cone Warps.
After using 200 Star Rail Special Passes in Version 4.4 following the start of the collaboration, players can also choose one limited 5-star collab Light Cone: I Am As You Behold or The Hell Where Ideals Burn.
Reruns, new outfits, pets, and event content
Version 4.4 will also feature limited reruns for Sparxie, Dan Heng – Permansor Terrae, and Evernight during the first half of the version. Cerydra, Anaxa, and Aventurine will return in the second half.
A new outfit for Sparxie, Dreamwave Tunes, will also be introduced during the update. Other additions include the new pet Emoti-Five and the Trailblaze fashion item Lygus Fanmade.
Players can also claim 10 Warps after logging in and checking in once the version launches. The collaboration event Fate/Starry Night will progress alongside the story, while the version event Data Block Anti-Corruption sends Trailblazers to investigate internal corruption through block-stacking gameplay. The permanent gameplay mode Currency Wars: Zero-Sum Game will also receive expanded content.

Honkai: Star Rail supports PC, iOS, Android, Epic Games Store, and PS5.

Version 4.4 feels like one of Honkai: Star Rail’s biggest updates in terms of crossover appeal and story momentum. Between Himeko’s new form, the Planarcadia crisis, and the Fate/stay night collaboration giving players a free limited 5-star pick, SEA players have plenty of reasons to log in when the update arrives.
