A massive crossover is heading to the Outlands as Apex Legends officially announces a collaboration with the legendary mecha franchise Gundam. The special event will launch on March 10, bringing Mobile Suit inspired content into the game.
The collaboration introduces themed gameplay mechanics, exclusive cosmetics, and collectible items that celebrate the iconic Gundam universe.
Mobile suits invade the Wildcard mode
During the event, the Broken Moon map will feature traces of Mobile Suit battles scattered across the battlefield.
Event Care Packages will contain two special items inspired by Gundam technology. The first is the Buster Rifle, a powerful weapon capable of launching the user upward, scanning through walls to mark enemies, and firing devastating laser blasts that destroy obstacles and cause explosive damage.
The second item is Bit Staves, which can function as a defensive shield that absorbs incoming damage. Players can also switch it to Drone Command mode, sending the devices to patrol and attack nearby enemies.
Several special abilities inspired by Mobile Suit combat will also appear during the event:
- Epyon’s Lash pulls enemies toward the player using a magnetic whip
- Heavyarms Salvo launches missile strikes after hitting enemies
- Zero Sacrifice triggers a self explosion upon death that damages nearby opponents
- Zero Rebirth briefly revives the player with one health point and temporary invulnerability
Gundam skins for multiple Legends
The collaboration introduces Gundam themed skins for several characters in the game.
The following Legends will receive Mobile Suit inspired designs:
- Alter themed after Gundam Epyon
- Conduit themed after Gundam Aerial
- Crypto themed after Freedom Gundam
- Gibraltar themed after Xi Gundam
- Mirage themed after Destiny Gundam Spec II
- Octane themed after GQuuuuuux
- Revenant themed after Gundam Deathscythe Hell
- Valkyrie themed after Wing Gundam Zero
Meanwhile, Sparrow will receive a cosmetic inspired by the famous red ace pilot Char Aznable.
Gundam inspired weapons and collectibles
Several weapons will also receive special collaboration skins including:
- Buster Rifle Kraber
- Destiny 99 R-99
- Aerial 301 R-301
Players can also unlock Mythic tier items from the event, including the Epyon Heat Rod and Beam Saber.
Additional cosmetics such as banner frames, trackers, and stickers will be available through the event reward shop.
Exclusive Gundam model kits for collectors
Outside the game, Bandai Namco will release limited edition Gunpla model kits tied to the collaboration. Pre orders begin on March 18.
The announced kits include:
- RG 1/144 Freedom Gundam Apex Legends Crypto Ver
- RG 1/144 Wing Gundam Zero EW Apex Legends Valkyrie Ver
- RG 1/144 Gundam Epyon Apex Legends Alter Ver
