Ubisoft finally brings cross play to The Division 2 across all platforms

A long awaited feature is finally on its way to The Division 2. Ubisoft has confirmed plans to introduce cross play support in an upcoming update, allowing players across multiple platforms to play together for the first time.
The feature will arrive as part of the Year 8 roadmap, marking another major update for the game as it continues to receive ongoing support years after its original launch.
Cross platform gameplay finally arriving
The addition of cross play will allow players from PlayStation, Xbox, and PC to connect within the same server ecosystem. This means agents from different platforms will be able to explore the post crisis world together without platform restrictions.
Cross play will apply to a wide range of activities in the game. Players will be able to team up for main story missions, cooperative PvE content, and even compete in the intense PvP encounters found in the Dark Zone.
While cross play has been confirmed, Ubisoft has not yet provided detailed information about cross progression. However, many players expect that save transfer support may also be introduced in the future.
Continued support into Year 8
The Division 2 continues to stand as one of the most actively supported titles in the franchise. Despite launching several years ago, the game has steadily received new content updates that expand gameplay and keep the community engaged.
The upcoming Year 8 content cycle is part of the broader celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Tom Clancy’s The Division franchise.
One of the additional features planned is Survivors, a gameplay mode that originally appeared in the first Division game and became a fan favorite among players.
The Division universe continues to expand
Ubisoft also continues to grow the franchise beyond the main console and PC entry. Another title in the series, The Division Resurgence, is preparing for release on mobile platforms and has already opened pre registration in several regions.
Meanwhile, The Division 2 remains available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, PC, as well as previous generation systems.
With cross play finally on the way, players across different platforms will soon be able to experience the tactical shooter together, nearly a decade after the franchise first began.
