Resident Evil 7 Secret Hint Connects Directly to Village

Resident Evil VII May Have Foreshadowed Village From the Beginning

A fascinating discovery by players suggests that Resident Evil VII may have subtly hinted at the events of Resident Evil Village long before its release.

A Rare Direct Story Continuation

Itโ€™s not often that Resident Evil delivers back-to-back mainline story continuity.

From Resident Evil 2 to CODE: Veronica, the series has typically taken narrative gaps. However, Resident Evil VII leading directly into Village is one of the rare exceptions.

Ethanโ€™s journey is filled with ominous signs, and some players have even pointed out hidden clues within the pause menu itself, where certain letter arrangements can form the word โ€œROSEโ€.

The Creepy Graffiti Discovery

A user named butjao shared an interesting observation on social media platform X.

While playing Resident Evil VII, during the Lucas puzzle segment, they noticed a disturbing graffiti image:

  • A smiling old woman
  • Wearing a dark hooded cloak
  • With an unsettling expression

This figure bears a striking resemblance to The Hag, a form associated with Mother Miranda, the main antagonist in Resident Evil Village.

Even though the cloak patterns differ slightly, the similarity is hard to ignore.

More Than Just Coincidence?

The connection between Resident Evil VII and Village goes beyond just Ethanโ€™s story.

Fans already know that:

  • Mia worked with The Connections
  • She was involved in transporting a bioweapon
  • That bioweapon is closely tied to Mirandaโ€™s daughter

These narrative links strengthen the theory that the two games were planned with continuity in mind.

Planned From the Start

Since Resident Evil Village began development immediately after VII, it wouldnโ€™t be surprising if:

  • Early concepts and ideas were already in place
  • Director Koshi Nakanishi had long-term narrative plans

This makes the graffiti discovery feel less like coincidence and more like intentional foreshadowing.
