SanDisk’s SN8100 PCIe-Gen5 SSD Blazing Fast & Efficient

SANDISK PCIe Gen 5 Enterprise High-Speed SSD Certified OCP Inspired™ by Open Compute Project
Sandisk today announced that the SANDISK® SN861 NVMe™ SSD PCIe® Gen5 has received OCP Inspired™ certification from the Open Compute Project (OCP) organization, compliant with the Datacenter NVMe SSD Specification and evaluated by the OCP Foundation for performance, impact, and impact. The SANDISK SN861 NVMe™ SSD is now available on the OCP Marketplace.
As the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning continues to grow, high-performance SSDs designed to meet the demands of AI computing tasks have become a key component of hyperscale, cloud, and enterprise data centers. Stands out for its efficiency. Capacity and energy efficiency that are ready to support the expansion of the organization’s infrastructure system at all stages of the AI data cycle.
Khurram Ismail, Chief Product Officer at Sandisk, said: “SSDs are not the only ones that have the right to do so. Our enterprise is specifically designed to truly meet the storage needs of our customers in the AI era,” he said, adding, “Receiving OCP certification reinforces the readiness of the SANDISK SN861 NVMe SSD for enterprise-critical and high-computing AI applications. Exceptional capacity and energy consumption are at the forefront of the industry.”
With capacities up to 16TB1 SANDISK SN861 SSD Therefore, it can support important steps in the AI data lifecycle such as model training, interface prompting, and inference engine. Enhance user experience and increase productivity while reducing latency on enterprise-critical tasks. In addition, the low-power design improves efficiency per watt (IOPS/Watt) and reduces total cost of ownership (TCO). However, OCP Inspired™ certification covers both form factors, namely U.2 and E1.S.
OCP is a collaborative network focused on designing new hardware to support the growing demands of computing infrastructure efficiently. OCP Marketplace is a showroom for OCP members who manufacture, design, and provide services related to OCP infrastructure.
Steve Helvie, Vice President of Emerging Markets at the Open Compute Project, said, “Efficiency, effectiveness, openness, scalability, and sustainability are key principles that every OCP Inspired™ brand must adhere to create an innovation ecosystem that is open and market-supportive, both now and tomorrow.” He adds, “SANDISK SN861 NVMe SSD It demonstrates excellence in all of these areas, both in terms of efficiency and availability at the enterprise level.”
