Honkai: Star Rail 4.0 Launches February 13 with Planarcadia Adventure
HoYoverse has officially announced that Honkai: Star Rail version 4.0, titled “The Full Moon is the Realm Without Gods,” will release on February 13, 2026. This update introduces Planarcadia, a vibrant new world where players will begin a year-long journey filled with joy and discovery. Players can also participate in the exciting “Lunar Illusion Game”, competing for the honor of becoming a “Star God for a Minute.”

Once a flat “world in a painting,” Planarcadia has been revitalized into a lively, bustling environment under new management. Players are welcomed by Pearl, a strategist from the “Top Ten Heartstone,” who acts as the host for visitors. This location is historically significant as the birthplace of Himeko, commander of the Astral Express, and marks the site of the original expedition 15 years ago. Today, Planarcadia is a hub of entertainment, with attractions, cafés, and media attention surrounding the Astral Express team.
Meet Unique Lifeforms in the Twin-Dimensional City
Players will encounter Jintachon, unique creatures that live harmoniously with the city’s residents. From the “Meowline Station” to flying dragon trains and Mechatron units, Jintachon rely on human attention and desire to survive. Forgotten creatures gradually fade away, making the city a constantly lively place filled with games, laughter, and hidden mysteries that lead to alternate dimensions.
The Lunar Illusion Game
The “Lunar Illusion Game” is a highlight of Planarcadia, designed by the “God of Fun.” Winners can meet the god and gain the temporary power of “becoming a Star God for a Minute.” The game has no strict rules—success depends on drawing attention and standing out. Only eight participant masks exist, and as the event approaches, factions including Astral Express, Masked Fools, organizations, and the Xianzhou Federation converge to join the challenge.
During gameplay, participating characters on the Joy Path earn Humor Points. Accumulating points triggers Aha Moments, enabling powerful skills and unique buffs, enhancing battle strategies and creating dynamic combat scenarios.
New Characters in Version 4.0
Version 4.0 introduces two new 5-star characters:
- Yao Guang – General of the Xianzhou Federation stationed in Yuque. As a Joy Path physical attacker, she uses “Fortune Cards” to influence battles, generate Humor Points, and trigger multiple Aha Moments, increasing team damage and breaking enemy resistances.
- Sparxie – A Joy Path fire-type character, a famous streamer in Planarcadia. She can summon live-streaming events in combat, providing buffs and additional Humor Points to allies. Her ultimate deals massive Joy Path damage to multiple enemies.
Additionally, limited 5-star characters such as Black Swan, Evernight, Hysilens, Sparkle, Cerydra, and Rappa will appear in warp events. Black Swan enhances team DOT damage, while Sparkle’s support boosts Joy Path damage for the entire team. Players logging in post-update will receive 20 warp tickets, a free Ruan Mei outfit, and 1,600 Stellar Jade from Yao Guang’s fortune event. Other surprises include new adventurer outfits, accessories, and a selectable 5-star character.
New Features and Gameplay Updates
Honkai: Star Rail 4.0 adds several new gameplay modes:
- Galaxy Duel – Card-based battles against powerful enemies.
- Ferbobo Weekly – Roleplay as a publishing house president.
- Currency Wars – Expanded content for persistent gameplay.
- Multi-Dimensional Universe – Updated exploration challenges.
The game continues to support PC, iOS, Android, Epic Games Store, and PS5™, with over 150 million downloads across platforms. Honkai: Star Rail has received awards including App Store iPhone Game of the Year, Google Play Best Game, The Game Awards Best Mobile Game, and multiple recognitions from Golden Joystick Awards and PlayStation Partner Awards. It is rated Teen (ESRB) and 12+ (PEGI).
