Ghost of Yotei Legends Raid Launch Won’t Support Matchmaking

Ghost of Yotei Legends Raid Launch Won’t Support Matchmaking, Forcing Players to Team Up
Sucker Punch Productions has confirmed that Ghost of Yotei Legends will not include matchmaking for its first Raid at launch, meaning players will need to manually form teams with friends to participate in the highly anticipated content.
The decision comes ahead of the Raid’s debut on April 10, which will introduce players to a major boss encounter against Lord Saito, a key figure within the game’s supernatural world.
No Matchmaking at Launch
At release, the Raid mode will not support public matchmaking, limiting access strictly to pre-made parties. This means players must already have friends in their list to join the activity, making it less accessible for solo players or those without an established group.
The developers acknowledged this limitation but clarified that the absence of matchmaking is only temporary. According to Sucker Punch, a future update is already planned to introduce the feature, with an expected rollout in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, players are encouraged to coordinate with friends or seek teammates through official community channels such as Discord.
A Challenging First Raid Awaits
The first Raid centers around a battle with Lord Saito, one of the leaders of the Yotei Six, and is designed as a high-level cooperative experience for four players. It cannot be completed solo, reinforcing the need for coordinated teamwork.
This mode will also offer some of the strongest gear in the game, making it a key activity for players looking to push their characters to the highest level.
Additionally, Sucker Punch revealed that the first team to defeat Lord Saito will receive special recognition, including potential promotion on the developer’s official social media channels.
About Ghost of Yotei Legends
Ghost of Yotei Legends is an online-focused expansion set in a mythological world inspired by Japanese folklore, particularly the realm of yokai. The game features multiple modes, including cooperative PvE story missions for two players and a four-player PvP mode.
Players can choose from four distinct classes, each with unique abilities, as they battle supernatural enemies and uncover the mysteries surrounding the Yotei Six.
Final Thoughts
While the lack of matchmaking at launch may frustrate some players, especially those who prefer solo queue systems, the promise of a future update offers reassurance.
👉 For now, preparation is key—because without a team, the Raid remains out of reach.
As the update approaches, it will be interesting to see how quickly the matchmaking system is implemented and whether it meets player expectations.
