SEGA Signs Partnership with C.P. Group to Expand into Southeast Asia

Get ready for entertainment from both Angry Birds and Sonic
In recent years, SEGA has been placing increasing importance on the Southeast Asian market. This includes organizing events, participating in regional showcases, and even localizing several games into Thai, such as Sonic Racing CrossWorlds and Two Point Museum. Most recently, exciting news has emerged as the company has announced a collaboration with Thailandโs C.P. Group.
According to SEGAโs official newsletter, the company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Charoen Pokphand Group (C.P. Group). This partnership aims to expand entertainment experiences using SEGAโs popular IPs through various pilot projects across Southeast Asia.
Images released alongside the announcement show executives from both SEGA and C.P. Group posing together with the iconic blue hedgehog Sonic, highlighting the friendly and collaborative nature of the agreement. Additionally, Angry Birds, one of SEGAโs recently acquired IPs, is also expected to be part of this initiative.

The agreement focuses on developing business opportunities using SEGAโs intellectual properties while building a sustainable growth foundation. C.P. Group will contribute its extensive business ecosystem to support content expansion.
Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont expressed his excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the potential to create strong and continuous new opportunities. Meanwhile, SEGAโs CEO Haruki Satomi stated his confidence in C.P. Groupโs solid foundation and strong presence across Asia.
