Paralives Devs Clarify Bold Mod Support Rules
Paralives has finally entered Early Access, giving life-simulation fans another major title to watch beside games like The Sims and inZOI.
Even though the game remains under active development, early player response has already looked positive. One of the biggest reasons behind that interest is the game’s support for community-made mods, which allows players to create and customize their own content around the life-sim experience.
Recently, the development team addressed questions about how far that mod support can go. During an AMA on Reddit, the team confirmed that Paralives does not fully block age-restricted community mods. However, they must still follow Steam rules and use clear labels when needed.

According to the team, Paralives supports player creativity and wants modders to build their own content for the game.
However, this freedom does not mean everything can appear without limits. Mods shared through Steam Workshop still need to follow Steam’s own policies. The team also said that content requiring age labels should be tagged properly so players know what they are downloading.
This gives the game a more open modding direction while still keeping platform safety and user awareness in place.
Steam Workshop remains the main safe space for mods
The developers also explained that their moderation scope mainly covers the Steam Workshop menu.
This means the team can help manage content shared through the official Workshop system. However, files installed from outside websites may fall outside their direct control.
Because of this, players should stay careful when downloading external mods. They also have the right to report suspicious content when they find anything that may break rules, violate privacy, or create legal concerns.
