Bancho the Chef Officially Revealed as a Dave the Diver Prequel

During the latest State of Play event, MINTROCKET officially announced Bancho the Chef, a new game from the world of Dave the Diver.

This time, the story focuses on Bancho, one of the important characters from Dave the Diver, during his younger years. The game changes the gameplay direction into a 3D cooking simulation adventure, letting players follow Bancho as he travels across Asia and learns different cuisines on his path to becoming a master sushi chef.

About Bancho the Chef

Bancho the Chef is a cooking simulation game mixed with adventure elements.

Players take the role of young Bancho before he becomes the legendary sushi master known in Dave the Diver. His journey takes him to different countries across Asia, where he learns new recipes, studies ingredients, and builds his reputation as a chef.

The game will let players practice choosing ingredients, cook dishes by hand, serve customers, and manage restaurant work in places such as Japan, Korea, and China.

Cook, Serve, and Build a Reputation

The gameplay loop focuses on learning ingredients for each dish, preparing food, serving customers, and clearing challenges in each country.

As players gain more cooking knowledge, they can unlock more recipes and become more popular with customers. This gives the game a steady progression system built around cooking skill, restaurant service, and regional challenges.

The story will also connect to the wider world of Dave the Diver, giving players a closer look at Bancho’s personal journey and the obstacles he faced before becoming the chef fans already know.

Planned Platforms

Bancho the Chef is planned for release on PlayStation 5 and PC.

Players who are interested can already visit the game’s Steam page to check more details and add it to their wishlist.

Bancho the Chef feels like a smart spin-off for Dave the Diver fans. Bancho already stood out as one of the game’s most memorable characters, so giving him a full cooking-focused adventure makes sense. The shift to 3D cooking, Asian cuisine, and restaurant challenges could also give the series a fresh flavor while still keeping its original charm.
