Onimusha: Way of the Sword Free Demo Is Available Now
During the latest State of Play event, Capcom announced that a free demo for Onimusha: Way of the Sword is now available to download on all platforms.
This gives players a chance to try the game before its full release this September. For those who missed the public demo at gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show, this is now the perfect chance to experience the swordplay action directly.
Play Through the Opening Section
The demo is close to the version previously shown to the public.
Players will take control of Musashi during the early part of the game. The demo takes place around the Kiyomizu Temple area, where players must cut through enemies, face demonic threats, and solve some light puzzles.
The demo also leads players toward a meeting with Musashi’s lifelong rival, Sasaki Ganryu.
After finishing the demo, players will receive the Kubi Akari item, which can be used in the full game.
However, the demo is designed mainly to help players become familiar with the controls. It does not support save data transfer to the full version.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a swordplay action game that takes players to Kyoto during the Edo period.
The city has been covered by a dangerous threat, causing demonic Genma to appear and attack the people.
Players take the role of a mysterious samurai who holds the Oni Gauntlet, giving him the power to fight these enemies with brutal sword techniques.
The game also brings back the important Issen system. This mechanic lets players counter enemy attacks at the right moment and turn them into powerful returning strikes.
Players will explore different areas, uncover hidden secrets, and search for the truth behind the protagonist’s identity.
Release Date and Platforms
Onimusha: Way of the Sword will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 25.
