Where Winds Meet Launches On Xbox And Game Pass With Hidden Mountain Expansion Reveal

Everstone Studio has officially launched Where Winds Meet on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud.

The free-to-play Wuxia open-world ARPG also joins the Xbox Game Pass library on day one, giving more players a chance to enter its massive martial arts world.

To celebrate the major console milestone, Everstone Studio also revealed the game’s next massive update during the Xbox Games Showcase. The newly teased third major expansion, Hidden Mountain, will bring a fresh region, new mysteries, and a long-awaited martial arts discipline to the game.

The announcement follows the game’s global growth, with Where Winds Meet already reaching more than 80 million players worldwide since its initial debut.

A Wuxia Open-World ARPG Built For Freedom

Where Winds Meet is an open-world Wuxia ARPG set in 10th-century China.

Players can forge their own legend across a seamless landscape filled with martial arts, unique weapons, solo adventures, co-op activities, and PvP encounters.

The game lets players explore a rich Jianghu world where combat, movement, story, and player choice shape the experience. With its Xbox launch, more players can now experience its open-world martial arts adventure from the living room.

Hidden Mountain Reveals A New Vertical Region

The upcoming Hidden Mountain expansion continues the game’s goal of giving players a different kind of experience with each major update.

Following the Hexi and Imperial Palace expansions, this new update introduces a massive region built around a 3D vertical landscape.

This new area expands open-world exploration through multi-layered terrain, hidden surprises, deep secrets, and traversal challenges across different elevations.

Players who enjoy exploration will be rewarded for curiosity. The region appears designed to encourage climbing, searching, and uncovering mysteries across every level of the mountain.

The Mohist Sect Brings New Mystery

High within the dangerous peaks of Hidden Mountain lies the secretive Mohist Sect.

This legendary faction brings new mysteries to the Wuxia epic. It also introduces advanced martial arts mechanics, unique gameplay loops, and major narrative twists.

The arrival of the Mohist Sect should give players more story threads to follow, while also expanding the game’s martial arts identity.

For players invested in the world of Where Winds Meet, this faction could become one of the expansion’s biggest highlights.

Hand Guard Discipline Delivers Close-Quarters Combat

The expansion also introduces the new Hand Guard Discipline, a fast-paced martial art that many players have been waiting for.

This discipline focuses on explosive close-quarters combat. It blends rapid pursuit, relentless counter-attacks, and powerful strikes that punish enemy mistakes.

Players can channel accumulated inner will into a single devastating blow capable of breaking through anything in its path.

This makes Hand Guard Discipline a strong addition for players who enjoy aggressive combat, fast reactions, and direct martial arts pressure.

Built For The Xbox Living Room Experience

The Xbox version of Where Winds Meet comes with several console-focused improvements.

The game supports Smart Delivery, allowing players to access the right version for their Xbox platform. It also features an overhauled UI and enlarged text scaling for better couch-friendly readability.

The Xbox version also supports HDR and AMD FSR 2, with 4K upscaling on Xbox Series X and 2K upscaling on Xbox Series S.

Everstone Studio also included deep memory optimizations to support stable and fluid frame rates during high-speed exploration and intense sword clashes.

These improvements aim to make Where Winds Meet feel natural on Xbox, especially for players using a controller on a large screen.

Custom Xbox Controller And Game Pass Perks

To mark the console debut, Where Winds Meet is also getting an exclusive custom-designed Xbox Wireless Controller.

The controller is styled around one of the game’s most emotionally resonant and iconic images. It also reflects the elegant but lethal aesthetic of the Wuxia universe.

Xbox Game Pass members can also claim a rich starter pack through Day One Game Pass Ultimate Perks.

Phase 1 runs from June 7 to July 23 PT and includes 450 Echo Jade, 90,000 Coins, and useful progression items such as Attune Stones, Lingering Melodies, and Pillow Pills.

These rewards should help new Xbox players begin their Jianghu journey with a stronger starting boost.
