Dragon Quest Smash/Grow Pre-Registration Opens with CBT in October 2025

A New Roguelite RPG Adventure in the Dragon Quest Universe
Square Enix has officially announced Dragon Quest Smash/Grow, a brand-new mobile installment in the legendary Dragon Quest series. The game blends classic monster-slaying with roguelite RPG mechanics and is now open for pre-registration. A Closed Beta Test (CBT) will launch this October, paving the way for a full global release on iOS and Android in 2026.
The developers explained that the purpose of the CBT is to gather valuable player feedback and refine the game before its official launch. Registration is open from September 17 until October 2, 2025, with testing scheduled to run from October 14 to October 21, 2025. Only 30,000 participants will be accepted, and those selected will be notified by email on October 10. Players must meet the minimum device requirements, including iOS 15.0 with iPhone XR or newer and at least 3GB of RAM, or Android 8.0 with Snapdragon 855 or newer, 64-bit architecture, and at least 6GB of RAM. The team also noted that final specifications may change for the official release.
Dragon Quest Smash/Grow introduces simple yet thrilling gameplay, challenging players to clear stages filled with the series’ signature monsters. Combat features iconic skills like Coup de Grace for explosive finishers, while the roguelite design ensures no two runs are ever the same. With every attempt, players will receive random Blessings that enhance their abilities, forcing them to adapt their strategies and character growth as the journey unfolds.
The charm of Dragon Quest remains fully intact, from familiar fantasy settings to beloved monster designs, while delivering a fresh twist on progression and combat. Fans can expect intense dungeon runs, strategic decision-making, and a high replay value that keeps each adventure unique. This combination of nostalgia and innovation makes Dragon Quest Smash/Grow one of the most exciting entries to look forward to in 2026.
By mixing roguelite unpredictability with the heart of a timeless RPG franchise, Square Enix is setting the stage for a Dragon Quest experience that feels both familiar and refreshingly new.
