Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage Preview – Legendary 3D Fighter Returns 2025

[Preview] Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage – Legendary 3D Arcade Fighter Returns

After two decades, Virtua Fighter 5 continues to define 3D fighting games in Japan. The latest iteration, R.E.V.O. World Stage, was showcased at Tokyo Game Show 2025, giving fans a chance to experience a refined, next-gen version developed with RGG Studio.

The demo featured Arcade mode, preserving the Ultimate 2021 UI, but now running 60FPS with 4K visuals optimized for next-gen consoles. While core mechanics remain faithful to Virtua Fighter 5, all characters received updated movesets and a major balance overhaul, incorporating combos from older entries for fresh strategies.

The full game will introduce World Stage mode, reminiscent of Quest mode from Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution, allowing players to climb virtual arcade rankings and earn cosmetic items for character customization.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage continues the ring-based 3D fighting tradition with 19 diverse fighters, the iconic Dural boss, and modern enhancements like Clash System and Forward Dash on angles. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S on October 30, with Nintendo Switch 2 coming later. PC Steam players will receive the World Stage update simultaneously, featuring cross-play with rollback netcode, enhanced graphics, and new single-player content.
