KurtJMac Completes 14-Year Minecraft Journey to the Far Lands

KurtJMac Reaches Minecraft’s Legendary Far Lands After 14-Year Journey
Breaking his own Guinness World Record for the longest in-game trek set in 2014
One of the most legendary challenges in Minecraft history has finally reached its epic conclusion. KurtJMac, a dedicated YouTuber and longtime player, has officially completed his monumental quest to reach the “Far Lands,” the outer edge of Minecraft’s virtually infinite map a place that exists not as a programmed boundary but as a terrain-distorting glitch born from the game’s world generation code. While many have teleported or cheated their way there, Kurt set out to achieve the impossible: to reach it entirely on foot.
Since 2011, Kurt has believed in the existence of the Far Lands without using teleportation. He launched Far Lands or Bust, a livestream and charity video series documenting his walking journey toward the edge while raising funds for charitable causes. In 2014, his journey was recognized by the Guinness World Records for the “Longest Journey in Minecraft.” And in early October 2025, after 14 years of perseverance, he confirmed that he had finally arrived a triumphant moment that electrified the Minecraft community.
The series has now reached its 852nd episode, and during the most recent stream, viewers witnessed the historic moment at 3:43:40 when Kurt stepped into the Far Lands. The milestone coincided with a charity total of $35,057 raised. Yet even this monumental feat isn’t the end of the adventure. Kurt intends to continue his journey further, exploring what lies beyond the “Farther Lands,” a second-generation map glitch that awaits discovery.
Minecraft remains one of the most influential sandbox games ever created, inviting players into a blocky voxel-based world where creativity, survival, and exploration collide. With survival modes, monster encounters, and boundless opportunities for construction, the game continues to thrive across consoles, Windows 10, and even VR platforms. The Bedrock Edition also supports cross-platform play, ensuring that the journey much like Kurt’s never truly ends.
