OnePlus 15 to Launch with 165Hz Oriental Screen Developed with BOE

OnePlus is preparing to unveil its next-generation flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, in China at the end of October. Ahead of the launch, the company has started promoting its third-generation Oriental Screen technology, co-developed with BOE, which it claims to be the most advanced smartphone display in the world. More details about this breakthrough will be shared during the BOE event in Shenzhen on October 14.

The 3rd Gen Oriental Screen is expected to be a 6.78-inch BOE X3 OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz maximum refresh rate, making the OnePlus 15 the world’s first smartphone to feature this next-level display. This new screen incorporates eight key innovations and has reportedly set nine global records in display performance benchmarks.

The display’s highlights are divided into four main pillars:

  1. Fluidity, offering seamless motion with 165Hz refresh rate and ultra-fast response time.
  2. Display Quality, delivering rich, true-to-life colors and exceptional clarity.
  3. Dark Display Performance, supporting hardware-level 1-nit brightness for comfortable low-light viewing.
  4. Eye Protection, certified by TÜV Rheinland Smart Eye Protection 5.0 Gold, ensuring superior eye comfort during prolonged use.

OnePlus President Li Jie Louis shared that this marks a significant leap forward from the 120Hz era first introduced with the OnePlus 7 Pro in 2019 to the new 165Hz standard, showcasing the brand’s continued commitment to driving innovation in smartphone display technology.

The collaboration between OnePlus and BOE emphasizes their shared vision of redefining display excellence. The Oriental Screen is designed not only to provide a stunning visual experience but also to cater to various user needs, from immersive gaming to cinematic content viewing.

The OnePlus 15 is poised to reclaim its position as a true flagship leader, combining advanced display engineering with powerful hardware performance. The device will debut in China first, with a global rollout planned for November, marking another major milestone in OnePlus’ pursuit of display perfection.
