Amazon officially relaunched its revamped Luna game streaming service, making it immediately available to players. The updated platform focuses on social gaming, making it more accessible for Amazon Prime subscribers at no additional cost. This move repositions Luna to capture the casual gamer market and offers increased value for Prime members across Southeast Asia.
Introducing the GameNight Feature
The biggest feature is the addition of GameNight, a curated collection of more than 25 multiplayer games optimized for living room play. GameNight’s core innovation is its controller-free experience. Friends and family can join a game session simply by scanning an on-screen QR code with their smartphone, which then functions as the game controller. This eliminates the need for specialized hardware, drastically lowering the barrier to entry for social gaming. The selection includes reimagined versions of popular party titles like The Jackbox Party Pack 9, Tetris Effect: Connected, and Angry Birds.
The AI-Powered Courtroom Chaos
Headlining the new GameNight collection is the exclusive, Amazon-developed title, Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg. This game is a human-built, AI-powered improv courtroom game. Players invent characters and stories, defending their testimonies before an AI-powered version of Snoop Dogg, who acts as the judge. The emphasis is on humor, improvisation, and easy collaborative fun, leveraging cloud and AI technology to create a unique gaming experience previously impossible.
Expanded Prime Subscriber Benefits
The new Luna is now an automatic benefit for Amazon Prime subscribers. Along with the entire GameNight library, Prime members gain access to a diverse and growing selection of traditional blockbuster and indie games. High-profile titles added to the library include Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and Hogwarts Legacy. These games, however, do require a compatible controller, which can be an Amazon Luna Controller or a standard Bluetooth gamepad.
