ASUS Unveils 720Hz OLED Gaming Monitor at Gamescom 2025

At Gamescom 2025, ASUS introduced the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W, a groundbreaking gaming monitor that redefines speed and visual fidelity. This 26.5-inch display features a 2560 x 1440 QHD OLED panel capable of an impressive 540Hz refresh rate at its native resolution. Remarkably, it can achieve a staggering 720Hz refresh rate when operating at 720p resolution, setting a new benchmark for OLED gaming monitors.

Key Features:

  • Dual-Mode Refresh Rates: Supports 540Hz at QHD and 720Hz at 720p, offering ultra-smooth gameplay for competitive gamers.
  • Tandem OLED Technology: Utilizes a new 4th Gen Primary RGB Tandem WOLED panel from LG Display, enhancing brightness by 15%, increasing color volume by 25%, and extending panel lifespan by 60% compared to previous generations.
  • TrueBlack Glossy Coating: Delivers deep blacks and vibrant colors, reducing glare and enhancing contrast for an immersive viewing experience.
  • Neo Proximity Sensor: Automatically dims the screen when the user steps away, helping to prevent OLED burn-in and extending the monitor’s lifespan.
  • Stylish Design: Features a sleek silver finish with a transparent rear enclosure and updated lighting, adding a modern aesthetic to any gaming setup.

Additional Models:

ASUS also introduced the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG, a more budget-friendly 1440p model that operates at 280Hz. While it doesn’t feature the Tandem OLED technology, it still offers excellent performance and visual quality.

Pricing and release dates for both monitors have not yet been announced. However, ASUS’s commitment to innovation and quality ensures these monitors will be highly anticipated by the gaming community.
