Tencent showcases AI development tools at GDC 2026

Gaming giant Tencent Games is preparing a major technology showcase at Game Developers Conference 2026, taking place in San Francisco from March 11 to March 13.

During the event, Tencent plans to present a wide range of innovations including AI powered development tools, advanced animation technology, and anti cheat solutions. The company will also host more than 20 knowledge sessions highlighting how artificial intelligence is transforming the global game development pipeline.

VISVISE AI tools for animation and modeling

One of the main highlights of Tencent’s presentation is VISVISE, a smart development toolkit powered by artificial intelligence.

VISVISE is designed to help developers create 3D animations more efficiently. The system supports automated processes such as character rigging, model preparation, and animation generation. By automating these complex steps, developers can significantly reduce production time while maintaining high quality results.

MagicDawn technology enhances game environments

Another technology Tencent will demonstrate is MagicDawn, an advanced engine system focused on improving lighting and sound.

MagicDawn is designed to enhance environmental realism in games by improving how visual and audio elements interact within the engine. The technology is compatible with several major development engines including Unreal Engine, Unity, and Godot.

Anti cheat systems and global testing platforms

Tencent will also demonstrate technologies focused on game security and quality assurance.

One of these tools is Anti-Cheat Expert, often referred to as ACE. The system is designed to detect cheating behavior across both PC and mobile platforms. By monitoring suspicious activity and gameplay patterns, it helps developers maintain fair play environments.

Tencent will also highlight WeTest, a testing platform that has already supported more than 1,000 companies worldwide with game testing and quality analysis.

AI powered kung fu animation from MoreFun Studios

Another demonstration will showcase AI driven martial arts animation created by MoreFun Studios.

The system uses artificial intelligence to generate realistic kung fu combat animations, allowing developers to quickly produce fluid fighting sequences without manually animating every movement.

Developer talks and AI summit sessions

In addition to technology demonstrations, Tencent experts will participate in multiple sessions throughout GDC.

Nathan Chen, the company’s technology lead, will speak during the Luminaries series about integrating AI into modern game production pipelines. Meanwhile, developers from TiMi Studio Group, known for Honor of Kings, will present strategies for using machine learning to improve asset production efficiency.

Tencent will also organize two additional events surrounding the conference. The Tencent Games Developer Summit will focus on marketing strategies and optimization for large scale shooters, while the Tencent AI Summit will explore practical AI applications throughout the development pipeline.

Pushing the future of game development

Tencent’s presence at GDC 2026 highlights the company’s ambition to become a global leader in game development technology.

By sharing tools designed to shorten production time while improving quality, the company aims to help studios build increasingly complex games more efficiently. These innovations could reshape how developers approach production in the coming years.
