AdventureQuest Worlds Infinity Raises $1.7M for Steam and Mobile Release

A classic MMORPG is making a powerful comeback as AdventureQuest Worlds: Infinity has officially secured massive funding and is preparing to launch on Steam and mobile devices.
Originally released in 2008 as a browser-based MMORPG built on Adobe Flash, AdventureQuest Worlds became a nostalgic favorite for many players. Now, developer Artix Entertainment is rebuilding the game from the ground up using a more modern engine to bring it into a new era.
A Fully Funded Comeback
To support the transition, the developers launched a Kickstarter campaign with a symbolic goal of just $1 USD. The idea was to let supporters feel like they personally funded the project.
The result was overwhelming. The campaign has now raised nearly $1,700,000 USD, massively exceeding expectations and proving that the game still has a strong and dedicated community.
Why the Engine Upgrade Matters
The move to a new engine is not a simple upgrade. It requires rebuilding nearly everything in the game, including:
- Weapons and armor visuals
- Items and enemies
- Animations and effects
- Thousands of quests
This massive overhaul removes technical limitations from the past and opens the door for future growth and improvements.
New Features in AdventureQuest Worlds: Infinity
The new version introduces a wide range of enhancements:
- Expanded fantasy world with more content
- Cross-play support across PC and mobile devices
- Hand-drawn art style maintained without AI usage
- Character data transfer for returning players
- Multiple class options
- Smooth gameplay with 60+ FPS
- Support for WASD controls and gamepads
- New pet system
- Enhanced guild features
- Seasonal events and updates
- Weekly new content releases
- More loot and challenging bosses
A New Era for a Classic MMORPG
This project represents more than just a remake. It is a full transformation designed to preserve the spirit of the original while modernizing the experience for today’s platforms.
Both returning players and newcomers will be able to explore the updated world together, thanks to its cross-platform functionality.
AdventureQuest Worlds: Infinity is currently planned for release in October 2026.
