The Crown is Mine! Zelda Superfan Reclaims World Record with Over 4,000 Items
From a childhood passion to owning over 4,000 collectibles, a hardcore The Legend of Zelda fan has successfully reclaimed her title as the world’s number one collector, officially cementing her name in the Guinness World Records once again.
The proud owner of this record is 39-year-old Norwegian primary school teacher Anne Martha Harnes, a lifelong fan of the Zelda franchise. Interestingly, this isn’t her first time at the top; she previously set the world record back in 2016 with a collection of 1,816 items before recently returning to reclaim the throne.
Of course, her journey wasn’t entirely smooth. After reaching the peak, her title was eventually surpassed by Constantine Adams (widely known as Coz), a collector from Virginia, USA. This forced Harnes to temporarily surrender her top spot.
However, instead of simply handing the crown over to Coz and calling it quits, she got serious. She continued to passionately expand her collection, increasing its size by over 120% since her first record-breaking run. Today, her massive hoard has skyrocketed to over 4,000 individual items!
Her collection features everything from standard figures to incredibly rare, obscure items that many fans have probably never even seen. Among her massive treasure trove, Harnes points to one specific item as her absolute favorite: the “Zoraxe” guitar from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. It is an ultra-rare promotional collectible with only seven units known to exist worldwide!
Overall, her entire collection is valued at roughly 1 million Norwegian krone (approximately 3.3 million THB). Harnes emphasized that she didn’t just bulk-buy everything at once for the sake of a record; these are items she has slowly and lovingly gathered herself over many years.
Harnes also mentioned that she had always planned to update her record status. It had been several years since her first attempt, her collection was steadily growing, and her old record had been broken. Furthermore, with the Legend of Zelda franchise rapidly approaching its 40th anniversary, the timing felt absolutely perfect to take her title back.
The origin of this incredible dedication is quite simple. Harnes grew up playing video games with her two younger brothers. Even though she explored many other gaming genres over the years, Zelda was always the series she consistently returned to.
Even with the world record secured once again, she has no plans to stop. She continues to actively hunt for ultimate “Holy Grail” items and believes that the rarest piece for her collection might be something she hasn’t even discovered yet.
Ultimately, this is more than just a news story about someone owning the most Zelda merchandise in the world. It is a testament to the fact that if you truly love something and stick with it long enough, it can take you further than you ever imagined. For Anne Martha Harnes, a simple childhood love for Zelda has brought her right back to the very top of the world!
