Celebrating International Women’s Day with Resident Evil’s Best female character

Celebrating the best female characters in the Resident Evil universe
March is not only the beginning of spring but also a significant month for celebrating women’s rights. Following International Women’s Day last week, it is the perfect time to honor the formidable women of Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise. These characters have consistently demonstrated leadership, resilience, and tactical brilliance. From the early days in Raccoon City to the latest terrifying events in Resident Evil Requiem, these women have defined the survival horror genre.
The Icons of Survival: Jill, Claire, and Ada
Jill Valentine remains a top-tier icon, known for her unmatched combat skills and her ability to outsmart the relentless Nemesis. Her selflessness, such as when she sacrificed herself to save Chris Redfield, has cemented her legacy.

Similarly, Claire Redfield evolved from a college student looking for her brother into a fierce activist. While she eventually shifted toward a support role, her solo infiltration of Umbrella facilities proved she is a force to be reckoned with.

Ada Wong stands out as the ultimate anti-hero. With a massive global fanbase, she excels at working in the shadows. Her most significant act of defiance was choosing to withhold the Las Plagas parasite from Wesker to save humanity. Her complex relationship with Leon S. Kennedy and her mysterious motives continue to make her one of the most intriguing figures in gaming.

The Modern Resilience: Mia, Sheva, and Helena
The newer era of Resident Evil introduced Mia Winters, a character with deep emotional layers. Despite her dark past, her strength as a mother in Resident Evil Village showed a more human, vulnerable side of survival.

Supporting protagonists like Sheva Alomar and Helena Harper also made their mark.
Sheva brought elite field expertise from B.S.A.A. Africa, while Helena utilized her government training and unique combat style to survive the global outbreaks of Resident Evil 6.

Legacy and Intel: Sherry, Hunnigan, and Rebecca
Sherry Birkin transformed from a traumatized child into a highly skilled government agent. Her expertise in computer systems and her unique regenerative abilities (thanks to the G-Virus) make her an asset that simply cannot be ignored. Behind the scenes, Ingrid Hunnigan provides the essential tactical support that keeps agents like Leon alive. Her loyalty was most evident when she helped Leon fake his death to take down Derek Simmons.

Rebecca Chambers, the youngest S.T.A.R.S. member, proves that intellect is just as vital as physical strength. A child prodigy and chemist, she provides the medical and tactical insight needed to survive bio-organic threats. When cornered, she is more than capable of handling heavy weaponry to defend her team.
Ingrid Hunnigan, A true support girl of Resident Evil who works with Leon on many missions in both the game and the movie. She provides assistance in the field of coordination. Find out more and wait for the dog joke in the original version of Part Four many times. But no less outstanding is the sixth part. When Leon trusts her enough to help cover up his death in taking down Derek Simmons, a higher-ranking villain, she decides to help him without hesitation.

Alex Wesker, the heir of Oswell E. Spencer, or the last surviving Wesker child, and Barry even abyssed when he had to go looking for his own daughter because he didn’t think that there would be a female Wesker. She used her credible image and assets to support the islanders in the mining operations before capturing them for experimentation. and searches for a figure that will transfer its own memories of doing evil through a virus that works on fear. In the end, she succeeded and no one knows what her fate was since then.

Moira Burton, Barry’s daughter was captured for experiments with Claire (who she thought would never play again). But Moira has more striples in mind than that she decides not to use firearms at all. In the end, Moira was able to overcome her fears. Before surviving for half a year in the hope of seeing his family again.

Rebecca Chambers,Rebecca may not have been very mentally strong in Zero and the first game, but she is an expert in the use of herbs and graduated with a Ph.D. at a very young age. If it’s really her turn, she’s ready to pick up both a machine gun and a flamethrower to defend herself effectively.

Annette Birkin, Another character who fails the exam in his duties. As a mother, Annette does her best to protect her husband’s job and has a last thought to support her family through the coast. Yet she eventually used her last strength to bury her own child in Claire.

Alexia Ashford, A woman who is brave, crazy, and decisive enough to push the limits of the word humane. Alexia is so fascinated by the science of trial and error that she plans a patriarchal death with her brother before putting herself in a freezer with a virus implanted and accurately calculating the transformation. So if you just talk about strength, it’s considered very cruel, but what scared Albert Wesker to the point of running away is intelligence.

Jessica Sherawat, Even though Jessica has only appeared in one part, this female spy has the same skills as Ada Wong. She knows how to use her charm to steal information or get used to the environment to the best advantage of any mission. Jessica’s skill in weapons is the use of sniper rifles, so when she was lurking in B.S.A.A. with Chris, she was able to support her to a certain extent. Before turning the game around by bombing the entire ship and fleeing without a trace!

The New Generation: Grace Ashcroft

The latest entry, Resident Evil Requiem, introduces Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Alyssa. While Grace may not have the combat training of Jill or Claire, her bravery in the face of loss is inspiring. She navigates the nightmares of her mother’s past using her wit to solve complex puzzles under extreme pressure. Her journey for freedom marks the beginning of a new chapter for female leads in the franchise.
Resident Evil Requiem is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. It utilizes the advanced RE Engine to deliver the most realistic character portrayals in the series to date. As the official ninth mainline installment, it continues the tradition of placing strong, capable women at the heart of the horror.
