HONOR Magic 8 to Launch October 15 with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Surpassing 4 Million AnTuTu Score

HONOR Magic 8 Launches October 15 with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Breaking 4 Million on AnTuTu

HONOR is gearing up to unveil its next-generation flagship, the HONOR Magic 8 Series, on October 15, 2025, in China. Ahead of the launch, the device has made headlines after achieving a record-breaking 4,166,339 points on AnTuTu with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset — surpassing the Xiaomi 17 Pro’s 3,749,435 points using the same processor. The event will also introduce new devices, including the HONOR MagicPad 3 Pro.

The Magic 8 introduces significant upgrades over the Magic 7, featuring a flat R-angle display with rounded edges for a more comfortable grip and a right-angled middle frame for a premium build. Its signature circular rear camera module is expected to house a triple sensor setup, with the Magic 8 Pro currently testing a 200MP telephoto lens capable of delivering exceptional zoom performance.

For the first time, HONOR integrates a dedicated AI button into the Magic 8, paired with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 that boosts CPU performance by 20%, GPU by 23%, and NPU by 37% compared to its predecessor. This positions the Magic 8 as a true AI-powered flagship, enhancing gaming, productivity, and machine learning tasks.

HONOR’s product manager Li Kun shared the benchmark breakdown, revealing the Magic 8 outperforming the Xiaomi 17 Pro in every category: CPU (1,213,845 vs 1,053,385), GPU (1,468,351 vs 1,332,311), Memory (570,553 vs 529,807), and UX (913,590 vs 833,932).

However, benchmark scores tell only part of the story. Real-world performance still depends on software optimization, thermal control, and power management. Tests showed the Magic 8 consumed 7% battery compared to the Xiaomi 17 Pro’s 2%, though it ran cooler (13°C vs 20°C) — suggesting HONOR still needs fine-tuning for sustained performance.

The Magic 8 will launch in China first, with an expected starting price between 20,000 to 30,000 THB. Meanwhile, the MagicPad 3 Pro will debut alongside it, featuring a 13.3-inch 3.2K 165Hz display and a massive 12,450mAh battery.
