A video league from Russian Wylsacom unboxed the new iPad Pro with the M5 chip in its entirety, before Apple officially announced it in October. This clip confirms the virtually unchanged exterior design from the M4 model, retaining the ultra-thin 5.1mm body, thin bezel Tandem OLED screen, and the original button-port layout, but removing the iPad Pro text on the back.
The M5 chip in the test version (13-inch, Wi-Fi, 256GB) comes with a 9-core CPU (3 high-performance cores, 6 power-efficient cores) similar to the M4, but Geekbench 6 shows a maximum CPU speed boost of 12-15% in multi-core mode and 10% in single-core. It makes daily tasks and Final Cut Pro more fluid. In addition, this model upgrades the RAM to 12GB from 8GB in the same M4 model.
The most notable is the GPU, which soars 34-36% from the Metal score on Geekbench, with AnTuTu confirming an additional 8%, making it ideal for 3D gaming, video rendering, and graphics-intensive creative work.
The M5 chip uses the same architecture as the A19 Pro in the iPhone 17 Pro, which has a 15-25% more powerful Neural Engine for AI tasks like real-time video editing or AR.
The box comes with a traditional braided USB-C cable (no charging adapter) and runs iPadOS 26 out of the box. This eliminates the need for old users to upgrade accessories.
The iPad Pro M5 will be a good choice for those upgrading from the M3 down, especially graphics and AI.
