iPad Pro M5 Rumors: 12GB RAM and Up to 36% Faster Performance

iPad Pro M5 Could Feature 12GB RAM and Up to 36% Faster Performance

New information has emerged about the upcoming iPad Pro, which is expected to bring two major upgrades: the M5 chip and a minimum of 12GB RAM to support enhanced performance. Apple is likely to announce the new iPad Pro officially in October 2025, following the release of the M4 iPad Pro in May last year.

A popular Russian YouTube channel, Wylsacom, recently uploaded a video showcasing the unreleased 13-inch iPad Pro. The video revealed a real device in Space Black with 256GB storage running iPadOS 26.0. Notably, the iPad Pro no longer has engraving on the back and comes in a thinner box design.

Performance Boost with M5 Chip

Geekbench 6 test results in the video show the M5 chip with a 9-core CPU delivering impressive performance. Single-core speed increased by around 10 percent with a score of 4,133, while multi-core performance jumped 15 to 16 percent with a score of 15,437 compared to the current M4 iPad Pro. Metal GPU performance also improved by 34 to 38 percent with a score of 74,568, making it ideal for gaming and graphics-intensive tasks.

RAM Upgrade to 12GB

Another highlight is the RAM upgrade. The base 256GB and 512GB M5 iPad Pro models are expected to feature 12GB RAM, up from 8GB in the M4 versions. This matches the RAM of devices like the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and Pro Max. The higher-end M4 1TB and 2TB models retain 16GB RAM. AnTuTu benchmarks also confirm an 8 percent GPU improvement and a 50 percent increase in L2 cache.

Additional Features

Leaked information suggests a second front-facing camera for vertical and horizontal video calls. While this was not visible in the video, other sources support the possibility.

Availability and Pricing

Official confirmation from Apple is still pending, but the price and release date are expected to be similar to the previous M4 iPad Pro models.
