Confirmed massive success shortly after launch

Just a short time after its release, the gacha RPG Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Oraora Overdrive has already made waves, reportedly earning an average of 100 million yen per day (approximately 22 million THB or 620,000 USD) during its first week. This demonstrates the enduring popularity and strong fanbase of the Jojo series.

Oraora Overdrive’s Success Helps Gumi Bounce Back from Losses

The game is developed by Gumi, the studio behind Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, which previously faced financial challenges and had to restructure and downsize staff in 2024, both in Japan and overseas offices. The success of Oraora Overdrive has become a turning point, restoring a stable revenue base for the company.

Gumi pointed out that the game’s strong launch was driven by the massive popularity of the Jojo franchise combined with a carefully selected development team. Even with a small team, they were able to produce a top-quality product.

The gameplay of Oraora Overdrive is a top-down tactical RPG. Players experience the main story mode covering Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Parts 1 through 6, engaging in strategic battles and dramatic cutscenes. There is also a ranked PvP mode and an in-game encyclopedia where fans can view 3D models of characters and Stands, complete with iconic lines from the anime. The gacha system remains the main source of revenue.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Oraora Overdrive is a mobile RPG where players collect and assemble teams of famous characters from the Jojo series to battle strategically. The game features high-quality graphics showcasing Ripple and Stand powers and emphasizes accessibility with simple controls and Auto Battle, allowing smooth gameplay even for newcomers.
