Lords of the Fallen II Officially Unveiled – Coming in 2026

CI Games has officially announced the sequel to Lords of the Fallen, titled Lords of the Fallen II, set for release in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Game Highlights
- The story continues 100 years after the events of the 2023 reboot, carrying on the dark fantasy, Souls-like action RPG tradition.
- The game is expected to be exclusively available on the Epic Games Store for PC, with no current plans for a Steam version.
- A key focus of the sequel is improved co-op gameplay. This comes in response to earlier feedback about server instability and issues with co-op progression in the original. Promotional materials already highlight two characters exploring together, hinting at a more seamless multiplayer experience.
Development Background & Direction
- The project has seen significant changes in leadership. Former creative director Cezar Virtosu, executive producer Saul Gascon, and art director Alexandre Chaudret departed from CI Games in early 2025.
- The development team is now led by Nathan Richardsson as senior development director and James Lowe as game director.
- CI Games promises that Lords of the Fallen II will be “bolder, braver, and bloodier”, aiming to deliver a more intense and expansive experience than its predecessor.

Final Thought
This sequel marks a pivotal moment for CI Games. Following a rocky launch and the need to rebuild trust with its community, the studio now has a rare opportunity to redefine the franchise. The new leadership, combined with lessons learned from past criticism, suggests that Lords of the Fallen II could rise far above its predecessor. If they deliver on their promises—especially in refining co-op and deepening the world-building—this could be a major redemption story in the Souls-like genre. It’s not just about being better; it’s about becoming unforgettable.
