Metaphor: ReFantazio Wins Grand Award Japan 2025
SEGA CORPORATION is pleased to announce that Metaphor: ReFantazio, developed by ATLUS’ STUDIO ZERO, has won the Grand Award in the Game of the Year Division at Japan’s largest game award, the Japan Game Awards 2025, given to the best work of the year.
The work received a lot of attention before its release, winning the Future Division award at the Japan Game Awards for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024®.
At The Game Awards 2024, the world’s largest gaming awards ceremony held at the end of last year. The game was nominated in six categories, including Game of the Year, and won three awards: Best RPG, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction.

A brand-new fantasy RPG from the creators of Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5.
The story takes place in a magical world, and is threatened by a strange-shaped monster called the Human. Ready to travel the world with your friends.
The battles use the Fast & Squad system, which is a state-of-the-art combination of action and turn-based combat, providing both the fast-paced and exciting of the action, with strategy and excitement from attacking enemy weaknesses in two combat styles.
Along the way, players will build bonds with the followers they meet, who will awaken over 40 Archetype classes with unique abilities, allowing them to enjoy deep and customizable battles.
