The King of Fighters AFK Launches METAL SLUG 3 Collaboration With Legendary Fighters
The King of Fighters AFK has officially launched a brand-new collaboration update with METAL SLUG 3, delivering a wave of nostalgic content inspired by SNK’s classic run-and-gun title. The limited-time event is now live and will run from February 11 to March 10, featuring new legendary fighters, special dungeons, and exclusive rewards.
METAL SLUG 3 Characters Join as Legendary Fighters
As part of the crossover, three iconic characters from METAL SLUG 3 arrive in The King of Fighters AFK as Legendary Fighters:
- Eri Kasamoto
- Marco Rossi
- Fio Germi
Players can obtain Eri Kasamoto and Marco Rossi through special Pick-Up Events available from February 11 to March 10, while Fio Germi officially joins the roster starting February 15.
Collaboration Events and Limited-Time Dungeons
To celebrate the collaboration, multiple themed activities are available until March 10.
METAL SLUG 3 Collaboration Check-In
Log in during the event period to earn valuable rewards, including the Legendary Fighter Marco Rossi on Day 1 and the Legendary Pet Pocket SV-001, inspired by the iconic Metal Slug tank, on Day 7.
Event Dungeon: Final Mission and Air Defense
This score-based dungeon lets players team up with familiar bosses from The King of Fighters AFK to battle Roots Mars of Disaster, a KOF-style reinterpretation of METAL SLUG 3’s final boss. Players earn ranking rewards based on performance, while daily participation grants event currency.
In the Air Defense activity, event currency can be used to access special draws featuring METAL SLUG 3 characters such as Tarma Roving, Donald Morden, and Madoka Aikawa as Legendary Supporters, along with fan-favorite Hyakutaro Ichimonji as a Unique Supporter.
Event Dungeon: Assault Mission
This limited-time tower-mode dungeon challenges players to clear multiple stages to earn Fighter Tokens, which can be used to summon collaboration fighters.
Additional Rewards and Pets
From February 17 to March 10, players can also obtain Legendary Pets such as Pocket Mars People and Pocket SV-001. Bonus rewards are available by discovering hidden Hyakutaro Ichimonji appearances scattered throughout the game.
New Challenge Dungeon and Returning Player Benefits
Alongside the collaboration, The King of Fighters AFK introduces a new Challenge Dungeon called Count Down Operation. This mode emphasizes strategy, allowing players to build up to five decks with a total of 25 fighters to take down powerful bosses.
Returning players who resume play on their original server will receive 14 days of comeback benefits, including opportunities to obtain powerful fighters like Orochi, Orochi Iori, and Orochi Leona. Players returning on a different server will also receive special benefits, with further details available through official channels.
