Master Mega Evolution: All Mega Stone Locations in Pokémon Legends Z-A

The Key to Mega Power in Lumiose City

Pokémon Legends: Z-A places the power of Mega Evolution at the core of its gameplay. To unlock this temporary power-up, players must find the corresponding Mega Stone for each Pokémon. These vital items are scattered throughout Lumiose City and its Wild Zones. There are approximately 60 or more different Mega Stones to collect. Players can obtain them through three main methods: purchasing them, exchanging shards, or defeating powerful bosses.

The Stone Emporium: Your Shopping Destination

The Stone Emporium, located on Vernal Avenue near the Prism Tower, is a key vendor. This shop sells several Mega Stones for in-game currency (Poké Dollars). New stock unlocks as you progress through the main story.

Purchasable Mega Stones (Prices Vary):

  • 50000 Poké Dollars: Gengarite, Medichamite, Abomasite, Scizorite
  • 70000 Poké Dollars: Garchompite, Steelixite, Kangaskhanite
  • 100000 Poké Dollars: Charizardite X, Charizardite Y, Blastoisinite

Quasartico Inc.: Mega Shard Exchange

Quasartico Inc., a corporate building in Lumiose City, offers another way to obtain these items. You must exchange Mega Shards, a collectible resource, for Mega Stones. Access to this exchange opens during Main Mission 10.

Mega Stone Exchange List (by Mega Shard Cost):

  • 180 Mega Shards: Pidgeotite, Manectite, Houndoominite, Audinite, Lopunnite, Sablenite, Sharpedonite
  • 240 Mega Shards: Gyaradosite, Lucarionite, Heracronite, Aerodactylite, Glalitite, Pinsirite, Galladite, Gardevoirite
  • 360 Mega Shards: Alakazite, Drampanite, Aggronite, Chandelurite

Note: Some stones, like Eelektrossite and Excadrite, only become available for trade after completing Main Mission 15.

Special and Event Mega Stones

Some powerful Mega Stones are tied to specific events or the game’s new competitive system:

  • Starter Mega Stones: You receive the Mega Stone for your chosen Johto starter (Meganiumite, Emboarite, or Feraligite) from AZ after completing Mission 10 and the subsequent three main missions. They are also available for purchase at the Stone Emporium in the post-game.
  • Ranked Battle Rewards: The Mega Stones for the Kalos starter final evolutions are exclusive to the Z-A Battle Club’s Ranked Battles. Players must reach Rank K to earn the seasonal reward. Greninjite is the reward for Season 1, Delphoxite for Season 2, and Chesnaughtite for Season 3.

Prepare to explore every corner of Lumiose City. Mastering the Mega Evolution system will be crucial to restoring harmony between people and Pokémon in the region.
