Profile: Translating “Project Spectrum”

Project Spectrum is a new PvPvE psychological horror FPS built using Unreal Engine 5, featuring stunning visuals and adrenaline-pumping combat. Developed by Team Jade in collaboration with TiMi Studio, the game was officially revealed at Gamescom 2025 – Opening Night Live, following two years of behind-the-scenes development.

Game Overview

  • Genre & Style: This is a first-person tactical shooter that incorporates asymmetric gameplay. Players take on high-stakes missions where crafting, scavenging, and surviving in hostile environments are central to the experience.
  • Environment & Technology: Set in the warped dimension known as the Ember Zone, the game explores a surreal world born from a mysterious force. The use of Unreal Engine 5 allows for highly detailed environments and immersive visual storytelling.
  • Gameplay Features: The threat landscape is constantly shifting. Players must contend with monstrous creatures born from the Ember, rival players aiming to outsmart or ambush them, and the toll on their own sanity as they navigate increasingly bizarre surroundings. Tactical coordination, environmental awareness, and sanity management are essential for survival.
  • Platform & Release: Project Spectrum is planned exclusively for PC. While a release date hasn’t been confirmed, development is actively ongoing.

Why It Stands Out

What makes Project Spectrum intriguing is its bold blend of horror, FPS mechanics, and psychological pressure. The asymmetric gameplay adds a layer of unpredictability, where every decision—be it a fight or a retreat—could shift the outcome. With visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5 and a mysterious, ever-evolving game world, it’s shaping up to be a thrilling and unique experience for hardcore and horror fans alike.

Final Thought

Project Spectrum is more than just another horror shooter—it’s an exploration of the human psyche under pressure, all wrapped in a tense, ever-changing battlefield. It dares to do something different by combining tactical action with psychological horror, a move that could either polarize or revolutionize the genre. Personally, I think this fresh take is exactly what the FPS space needs. If Team Jade delivers on its potential, Project Spectrum might be one of the most talked-about titles when it drops.
