Long before Resident Evil evolved into the dark and cinematic survival horror we know today, the original PS1 trilogy was filled with unintentionally cheesy dialogue and infamous lines that became memes. One of the most legendary is the “Jill Sandwich” moment, where Barry jokes that Jill almost became a sandwich after narrowly escaping a crushing trap. The line stuck so deeply in gaming culture that even Resident Evil Revelations 2 referenced it years later.

While the 2002 remake of Resident Evil kept the same trap sequence, Barry never uttered the exact Jill Sandwich line again—making fans miss the original charm. Now, a new mod brings the joke back in the most literal way possible.

Created by modder tombraidermods, the new mod titled Play as Jill Sandwich lets players take control of Jill Valentine wearing her S.T.A.R.S. uniform—only this time sandwiched between two giant pieces of bread. The mod description proudly declares, “At last, you can play as the legendary Jill Sandwich!”

In gameplay, Jill appears with bread attached to her body, and during cutscenes, the iconic sandwich moment is hilariously highlighted. However, the mod isn’t flawless—when aiming a gun, Jill’s arms often clip through the bread, since the sandwich model is simply layered over her body without animations.
