Sonic Rumble is a fast-paced action game set in a fantastical toy world. This whimsical arena is the creation of the villainous Dr. Eggman. Players control small, toy versions of fan-favorite characters. The roster includes Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, and Dr. Eggman himself. The primary goal is to compete across various obstacle courses and minigames to collect the most Rings.
The core gameplay is a thrilling, round-based elimination style, similar to popular titles in the genre. Matches begin with up to 32 players. The field is quickly whittled down over subsequent rounds. Sixteen players advance from the first round, and then eight move on to a final, decisive challenge.
