THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK Adds New Fighter ‘Shiranui Mai’ and Exciting Club Battleground System in Global Update
Netmarble has launched a major global update for its popular AFK RPG THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK, introducing the iconic fighter Shiranui Mai alongside new gameplay systems and expanded content.
Players can now recruit Mai, a fan-favorite kunoichi and heir to the Shiranui ninja arts, who wields her signature giant fan with deadly precision. Mai is available through the Pickup Shiranui Mai event until October 15, giving players a chance to add her to their roster. A special Random Pickup Sequence event will also run during the same period, offering more opportunities to acquire the powerful Fighter Scenery [Fury].
The update is packed with additional activities, including a Full Moon Blessing event that rewards players with exclusive Club Acorn Boxes simply by logging in. Players can unlock even more rewards by answering quizzes on official forums and social channels.
A major highlight of this update is the introduction of the Club Battleground system, which brings new strategic layers to team battles. Players can now activate Skill Consoles during combat, unleashing powerful area-of-effect skills that change the flow of battle. Several key gameplay elements have also been expanded including the Main Stage, Gold Rush Dungeon, Conflict Lab Dungeon, and Influence allowing players to progress up to Stage 18,000 and earn additional rewards.
Built on SNK’s legendary The King of Fighters IP, THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK reimagines classic fighters in nostalgic pixel art graphics reminiscent of THE KING OF FIGHTERS R-2 from the NEOGEO POCKET COLOR era. The game combines strategic depth with classic 5v5 team battles, allowing players to build powerful decks by mixing and matching up to 15 different fighters and combat styles.
