The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin Open-World RPG Offers 30 km² Map and New Story

Netmarble is set to bring fans into a brand-new adventure with The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, an open-world RPG scheduled for free release on January 28, 2026. The game features a massive 30 square kilometer map of the fantasy world of Britannia, marking the first time the series has been presented in a full open-world format.

A New Take That Respects the Original Series

Creating a game from a popular anime or manga is always challenging, but Netmarble emphasizes that their main goal is to respect the original story and universe of The Seven Deadly Sins while introducing a new narrative specifically designed for this game.

Do-Hyung Koo, the game’s executive producer, revealed that the development team worked closely with Nakaba Suzuki, the original manga creator. Suzuki contributed to designing revamped versions of original characters and provided guidance on the main story, ensuring that while the game introduces new interpretations, it remains balanced within the canon of the original storyline.

This approach allows The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin to offer longtime fans a fresh experience while also inviting new players to explore the expansive universe. The open-world design enables players to freely explore both classic and new characters in the richly crafted world of Britannia.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is an action RPG that immerses players in the beloved anime and manga series, which has sold over 55 million copies worldwide. Players will step into the role of Prince Tristan of the Kingdom of Liones, embarking on a journey to restore peace to a world disrupted by mysterious events involving the collision of time and alternate dimensions.
