Apple Delays Second-Gen iPhone Air Until Spring 2027

Apple reportedly will not launch the second-generation of its ultra-thin iPhone Air in fall 2026 as initially planned. Instead, the company has already sharply scaled back production of the first model, according to reports. The first iPhone Air was unveiled in September but appears not to have gained strong traction, prompting Apple to reconsider its rollout strategy. A news report suggests that the next iPhone Air which was expected to offer improvements such as longer battery life, lighter body and a vapor chamber cooling system like the iPhone 17 Pro has been delayed. Sources indicate the next launch may now happen in spring 2027. Meanwhile, Apple’s fall 2026 lineup will likely include the iPhone 18 Pro and a foldable iPhone, with standard models expected in 2027’s spring window.

THIS IS OUR SAY
The delay of the second-gen iPhone Air signals that Apple is carefully rethinking its ultra-thin strategy rather than rushing a follow-up with weak market reception. For smartphone users in Southeast Asia, this means the next iPhone Air may bring significant refinement rather than just incremental upgrades.
