iPhone 17e 2026: 18MP Center Stage Front Camera Upgrade

Apple is reportedly preparing to launch the budget-friendly iPhone 17e in early 2026, bringing an unexpected upgrade to the front camera that could make it a standout choice in its price range. The iPhone 17 series, released in fall 2025, introduced the 18MP Center Stage front camera across all models, allowing automatic group selfies without adjusting the device manually. This feature is available on the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and Pro Max.

According to analyst Jeff Pu, the upcoming iPhone 17e will also receive the same 18MP Center Stage front camera, despite being the most affordable model. Launch is expected in Q1 2026, around February to March, with the device running on the A19 chip like the main iPhone 17 models, narrowing the gap between the budget and flagship lines.

While the rear camera will remain a single 48MP lens and it lacks ProMotion 120Hz support, the Center Stage front camera is a key feature for users who prioritize selfies and video calls. Fans of the affordable iPhone but similar to the top models should be excited about the iPhone 17e if the news is true. This model is poised to step up to the podium as the number one choice of 2026 with a starting price of $599.
