Google Photos Brings AI-Powered Editing to iOS with Help Me Edit
Google has rolled out a major update for Google Photos, introducing AI-powered editing features that simplify photo enhancements through conversational commands. The popular Help Me Edit feature, previously limited to Pixel and certain Android devices, is now available on iPhone in the U.S. Users can type or speak commands like removing objects or adjusting lighting, and the AI will generate results instantly.
The update also brings Android’s streamlined editing UI to iOS, allowing users to swipe, tap, and adjust tools with ease for faster and more intuitive photo editing. Facial editing AI has been upgraded to remove glasses, open closed eyes, or add realistic smiles, referencing the user’s personal Face Groups to ensure natural-looking results.
Additionally, the new Nano Banana AI tool transforms ordinary photos into various artistic styles, from mosaic paintings to cute cartoons or fantasy-inspired visuals, enabling anyone to unleash their digital creativity effortlessly.
For interactive AI experiences, Google Photos introduces an Ask button on both Android and iOS, allowing users to chat directly with AI to edit or inquire about their images. Android users can also access AI Templates for popular presets, such as fashion-show-inspired photo effects.
Finally, Google has expanded the Ask Photos feature to over 100 countries with 17 additional languages, turning Google Photos from a simple storage tool into a smart, playful personal assistant for global users.
