Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Sells Out Fast in South Korea Despite High Price and Repair Costs

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Sees Strong Launch in South Korea
Samsung’s latest triple-fold smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, has officially gone on sale in South Korea and immediately generated strong momentum, with early stock selling out rapidly. This strong reception comes despite the device carrying a premium price tag of around USD 2,400, highlighting continued enthusiasm for next-generation foldable technology in Samsung’s home market.
Premium Price Meets Cutting-Edge Foldable Innovation
The Galaxy Z TriFold represents Samsung’s most advanced foldable design to date, featuring a complex triple-fold display with two hinge points. While the high price places it firmly in ultra-premium territory, early adopters in South Korea appear willing to pay for the most advanced smartphone form factor currently available.
Repair Costs Draw Major Attention

Alongside its impressive sales performance, repair costs have become a major talking point. In South Korea, the cost to replace the inner foldable display, the most critical and technically complex component of the Galaxy Z TriFold, is set at a minimum of 1,657,500 KRW, or roughly USD 1,122. This makes it the most expensive display repair ever for a Samsung smartphone, a figure that reflects the engineering complexity of a triple-fold panel.
To soften the impact, Samsung is offering a one-time 50 percent discount on inner display replacement. While this significantly reduces the financial burden, the repair cost remains high even after the discount, reinforcing the premium and delicate nature of this new form factor.
Outer Display Remains Affordable by Comparison
In contrast, the outer cover display tells a very different story. Repairing the external screen costs around 137,000 KRW, or approximately USD 92. The massive price gap between inner and outer display repairs clearly illustrates where the true technological complexity and cost lie within the Galaxy Z TriFold’s design.
A Clear Signal of Market Confidence
The rapid sell-out of the Galaxy Z TriFold suggests that early adopters are ready to embrace Samsung’s boldest smartphone innovation yet, even with record-high repair risks. It reinforces the idea that, at least in South Korea, demand for cutting-edge foldable technology remains strong despite the financial trade-offs.
